This Prosound monitor was used as an extra speaker by our bassist Richard Chetland before it stopped working. It has been cranked up pretty loud at live gigs and Rich has certainly got a full/powerful sound so not too surprised to find the coil blown.

Sure enough, it measures open circuit from the crossover and across the speaker terminals :(. However, the big clue that the speaker has been massively cooked is the scratching sound the burned out coil makes when the speaker is gently and evenly  pressed in and out.
