A delightful and extraordinary first album from a unique individual
It has been a real pleasure to hear this album at various stages of construction. The final piece contains layers and complexity with many moments of pure musical genius.
Many aspects of music are so strongly tribal and stylised, well pigeon holed if you like they become predictable and derivative. Alex’s album is just music in its purest form free and unbounded. It is a delight to say this piece is and isn’t Classical, Jazz, Operatic or Rock but that it draws from all required to tell the story.
Had the privilege of being allowed to listen to a series of “under construction” playbacks in Alex’s studio. Hearing the pieces form with Alex filling in the pieces he has not recorded by performing them live alongside the recorded parts was amazing.
